      On October 16, 2019, Adam Schwartz, executive vice president of Israel Institute of Technology (Technion), and Shuli C. Schwartz, executive director and CEO of Technion DRIVE Accelerator, paid a visit to Kilo-Innovation Research Institute (KIRI). Liu Minhua, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Talent Work, Wu Jianmin, member of the Huairou Science City Party Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee, Zhang Chuang, member of the standing Committee of the District Party Committee and minister of the District Organization Department, and Tao Binwu, an expert specially hired by the district government, accompanied the visit. Shen Wei, assistant president of KIRI, received the experts from Israel and leaders from Beijing and Huairou district, and gave a detailed introduction on the development process, innovative mode and future planning of the Institute.

      During this period, Adam Schwartz and the group visited the Innovation Exhibition Hall of KIRI. Shen Wei introduced the products and technologies displayed in the Hall and had in-depth communications with the experts and leaders on the innovation achievements, including gallium nitride (GaN), a new material for chips, intelligent robots, cancer-targeted therapeutic drugs and other cutting-edge scientific and technological projects currently settled in KIRI. Leaders from Beijing and Huairou District also showed their affirmation towards the progress made by KIRI.

      At the symposium, Shen Wei, assistant president of KIRI, extended his warm welcome to the experts, and leaders. Shen gave a detailed introduction of the overall development, the structural planning and development mode, and exchanged information on the deep incubation of projects and innovative service modes in scientific and technological innovation transformation. After the communication, both sides had a preliminary discussion on the cooperation between KIRI and Technion.
